The Moore Family
Dr. Kevin Moore
Pastor

Kevin grew up not far from Spring Hope in Wilson, NC.  His family did not start attending church until they moved from Wilson to Creedmoor, NC.  He was later baptized with his whole family at church.  After graduating from high school, Kevin began his college career at Western Carolina University.  During his time there, Kevin was highly involved with the Baptist Student Union.  He graduated from Western Carolina University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Natural Resources Management.

Kevin went to seminary at Gardner-Webb University's School of Divinity, and graduated in December 2011 with a Master’s of Divinity in Pastoral Studies. He graduated with his Doctor of Ministry degree from Campbell University's School of Divinity in 2018. Kevin came to First Baptist Church in January of 2012.  It was the start of his first full-time ministry position as pastor.

Kevin and his wife, Kasey, have three daughters and a beloved daughter-dog named Lucy.  He enjoys anything outdoors, including camping, fishing, and hunting.  He has started woodworking as a hobby, and is starting to develop the green thumb of gardening.

Meg James
Music Director

Meg grew up in Nash County and attended Southern Nash Senior High School.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Music Therapy from East Carolina University.  She holds a Master of Music Degree from ECU as well.  While at ECU, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship greatly influenced Meg's strong interest in working with Internationals and serving in missions.  After teaching music in NC, NY, and VA public schools for 12 years, Meg served overseas for five years.  Since 1999, she has taught at Bailey Elementary School  teaching English as a Second Language.  Nine summers have been spent overseas helping internationals learn English.  On weekends, she is a volunteer tutor at La Estrella Hispanic Outreach in Stanhope.  She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and playing the hammered dulcimer.
